| Carat, the European media agency claims singles are discriminated against in a "couplist society", according to a study of more than 12,000 adults in England, Scotland and Wales. "Singletons", who make up 38% of the adult population are expected to work late hours and weekends, often covering for couples who are dating or doing things with the family. Outside of work a singleton is often excluded socially as well. |
